The Diamondbacks need a roster spot with Barry Enright scheduled to be recalled Tuesday. Aaron Heilman has such a spot.
Or does he?
Heilman, who is 4-1 with a 6.88 ERA in 32 appearances this season, cleaned out his locker following Monday night’s game and left the clubhouse with a large box under his arm. Over his last seven games Heilman has allowed seven runs in 7.2 innings for an 8.22 ERA.
Heilman is in his second season with the Diamondbacks after signing a one-year, $2 million contract in the off-season.
An official announcement is expected Tuesday.
