NBA legend Michael Jordan has donated $2 million of his profits from the documentary “The Last Dance” to Feeding America.

“In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to pause and give thanks,” the former Chicago Bull said in a statement tweeted by the charity on Wednesday.

“I am proud to be donating additional proceeds from ‘The Last Dance’ to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas and Chicago to help feed America’s hungry,” Jordan said.

Feeding America is a nonprofit network of more than 200 food banks across the U.S. that feed more than 46 million people.

The organization has seen an increase in need during the coronavirus pandemic, as many are faced with job losses and layoffs.

More than 50 million Americans are projected to experience food insecurity in 2020, according to Feeding America.

Earlier this year, the five-time NBA MVP and the Jordan Brand pledged to donate $100 million over 10 years to organizations fighting for racial equality and social justice.
