Wolf: ‘Why not make it sooner’ for Trevor Bauer

With Jason Marquis going down with an injury the Diamondbacks suddenly find themselves needing another starting pitcher.
While the Diamondbacks appear to be in no rush to get some of their better pitching prospects to the Majors, Sports 620 KTAR’s Ron Wolfley wonders, simply, why not Trevor Bauer?
“Tell me you didn’t think, ‘Well, they’re going to call him up in September anyways, what do you say we just bring him up right now.'”
That isn’t to say there wouldn’t be any risk to bringing Bauer up so soon after ending his collegiate career.
Disregarding the thought that his stuff may not be Major League-ready, Wolfley worries about what could happen if, in fact, Bauer passes through the Minor Leagues so quickly.
Because, as Wolfley said, even success could pose a problem for the former UCLA star.
“I do not want to see this meteoric rise for Trevor Bauer,” he said. “I believe in working for something.
“I don’t want to see him think it’s easy.”
