Long ball goes far for D-backs in postseason

Oct 6, 2011, 2:25 AM | Updated: 4:53 am

Heads up in the outfield.

The Diamondbacks have relied on the long ball, much like they have all season, to create their offense in the postseason.

After the seventh inning on Wednesday night, the D-backs had scored 16 of their last 22 postseason runs via home runs.

Going back to Sept. 27 during the regular season, the D-backs have scored 23 of their last 30 runs from home runs. They are 76-32 during the regular season when hitting a home run.

Thanks to all the homers, the D-backs had their third-highest scoring postseason game in franchise history on Wednesday.

So far in the playoffs, the D-backs have already set a few postseason home run records and don’t look to be calling it quits anytime soon.
