Devin Booker knew he had hit a go-ahead three-point jumper as soon as the ball left his extended right hand on Monday night.
Booker, who finished the night with 24 points in his first game back after a four-game absence from injury, would prove correct in his assessment.
That jumpshot gave the Suns a 109-108 lead over the Dallas Mavericks with 1.5 seconds left in regulation.

Booker’s shot would be the game-winning basket, as the Suns would go on to earn their second win in three days over the Mavericks by that very score.
The shooting guard’s game-winning jumper capped off an up-and-down, 9-for-19 shooting performance that helped the Suns mount several comebacks during the contest’s final quarter of play.
Booker finished Monday’s contest with four three-pointers on eight attempts, joining fellow guard Chris Paul in hitting a quartet of shots from behind the arc in the win.
Booker’s late-game heroics helped the Suns improve their record for the year to 11-8, capping off a sweep of the two teams’ three-game series for the season.
It all came to its dramatic conclusion on an off-balanced shot that just cleared the outstretched arms of Mavericks’ guard Josh Richardson.
It was a shot that hit nothing but net, giving Suns fans a reason to celebrate on Monday night.
