Arizona Wildcats freshman big Azuolas Tubelis has been named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the second straight week.
Tubelis averaged 12.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game for the Wildcats during a 2-0 week. The freshman hit the game-winning shot against Washington on Saturday to give Arizona its 11th win of conference play.
He is the second Pac-12 freshman to win the award in back-to-back weeks, joining USC big Evan Mobley, who has done it twice.
The Wildcats have had Tubelis earn the honor now on four different occasions this year, along with freshman wing Bennedict Mathurin’s one nod making it five total for the school. Mobley on his own has won it six times, giving the Trojans the school with the most this season.
Colorado senior guard McKinley Wright IV was named the conference’s Player of the Week.
