Well, that didn’t take long.
Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitching prospect Trevor Bauer
continued his ascent toward the Major Leagues, earning a
promotion to Triple-A Reno, according to a tweet from
Chris Harris, the manager of media
relations for the Jackson Generals.
Just
got word that Mobile starter Trevor Bauer was promoted to
AAA this morning. That is unbelievable. What timing. So no

The promotion, as mentioned by Harris, negates a premier
pitching matchup between Bauer and Danny Hultzen of
Jackson, who was selected by the Seattle Mariners second
overall in 2011.
Bauer dominated in the Double-A Southern League for the
Mobile Bay Bears, going 7-1 in 8 starts while posting a
1.68 ERA and striking out 60 hitters in just 48.1 innings
of work.
Bauer is currently leading the Southern League in wins,
strikeouts and ERA.
After being the 3rd overall selection in last June’s First
Year Player Draft, Bauer is 8-3 in 15 career minor league
starts, with a 3.16 ERA.
