The signing marks the third cornerback the Cardinals acquired on Saturday after drafting Marco Wilson out of Florida in the fourth round and UCF’s Tay Gowan two rounds later.
Burns spent five years in Tucson under former head coaches Rich Rodriguez (2016-17) and Kevin Sumlin (2018-20).
The corner became a starter his redshirt freshman season in 2017 and went on to have five interceptions (tied for most in Pac-12) and 12 passes defensed.
In 42 career games for the Wildcats, Burns compiled nine interceptions, 35 passes defensed, two sacks and two fumble recoveries.
He also added 192 total tackles (142 solo) and eight tackles for loss.
Those stats earned him All-Pac-12 honorable mentions in each of the last two seasons.
Burns stands at 5-foot-10, 183 pounds and will be one of at least three rookie CBs heading into training camp for the Cardinals.
Former Wildcats defensive tackle Roy Lopez and running back Gary Brightwell were drafted back-to-back in the sixth round by the Houston Texans (No. 195) and the New York Giants (No. 196), respectively.
