Corona del Sol basketball player Marvin Bagley can add another honor to his mantle after being named the No. 1 recruit by ESPN.com for the class of 2018.

Bagley, an incoming sophomore for the Aztecs already has offers from just about every NCAA Division I program including Duke, Kentucky, UCLA and in state schools Arizona and Arizona State.

ESPN.com called Bagley, “The Full package” because he has everything and added the 6-foot-10 power forward has the potential to become a small forward because of his tremendous skill.

Bagley is a very talented long and lean lefty who can handle the ball on the break and make excellent decisions passing the ball as well. He finishes above the rim over or around defenders with aggression. Bagley hits smooth mid-range jumpers off the rhythm dribble and knocks down the open 3 off the catch when his feet are set. He also rebounds on both ends of the floor with length.

ESPN went on to say that Bagley will need to add strength and learn to play with great energy, but there is no question that his talent, skill and production are simply undeniable.

Bagley was recently named National Freshman Basketball player of the year by MaxPreps.com and is ranked the No. 8 overall player in the country by Scouts.com.

Last year as a freshman, Bagley averaged close to 20 points and just over 10 rebounds per game in leading Corona to its fourth straight AIA Division I State Championship.

He recently took a non-official visit to Duke and told
Arizona Sports 98.7 FM’s Arizona Preps 365 that he’s looking forward to improving his game and becoming a more vocal leader on the court.
