Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo sends wedding gift to fan after receiving invite

Jul 7, 2015, 4:41 PM | Updated: 4:42 pm

Weddings are a memorable experience. You want to have friends, family, mentors, and even people you idolize to be able to see you on your big day.

So why not the star quarterback of your favorite team?

That’s what one particular Dallas Cowboys fan did, inviting Tony Romo to his wedding.

Romo, as expected, did not attend.

However, he did not forget his fans.

The Cowboys star made sure he got his wedding gift in, forgoing the registry and sending a signed photo.

The fan posted about the occurrence on Reddit:

Thought i’d share this real quick. I saw on Sportscenter last fall that some couples in the Denver area were sending Peyton invitations to their weddings and he’d send back the response card with the “regretfully decline” box checked, BUT his autograph on the card as sort of a wedding gift.

Well, I tried the same thing with our QB back before I got married in April and got this nice little surprise in the mail over the weekend. My wife is an EIU grad, so I think that may have helped, too!

Better late than never, right? I’m not sure how authentic it is but I really don’t care……..this is a definite man cave item for the rest of my life. Freaking love this guy! THANK YOU TONY (or Tony’s ppl) and GO COWBOYS!!!

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly have responded to wedding invites in similar fashion, so Arizona Cardinals fans may want to give wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald an invite to their wedding.
