Minor league team to wear ‘Buddy the Elf’ jerseys
The Reading Fightin’ Phils will celebrate “Christmas in July” Thursday night when they host the New Britain Rock Cats at First Energy Stadium.
The festivities will include post-game fireworks and the first 5,000 fans will receive a Christmas in July stocking courtesy of a local tire shop.
But the Phils players themselves will be the highlight of the night when they take the field in jerseys inspired by the holiday favorite Elf starring Will Ferrell.

The jerseys will be auctioned off following the game.
There is no truth to the report that concession stands at the ballpark will be limited to selling items from the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.
