The Arizona Diamondbacks made a pair of roster moves on Friday, reinstating relief pitcher Joe Manitply from the injured list and returning Ryan Buchter to Triple-A Reno.
Mantiply was one of five D-backs placed on the injured list on July 30 in relation to a COVID-19 situation.
The left-hander is tied with Kevin Ginkel for the most appearances among all pitchers with 32. Across his 24.0 innings, Mantiply has a 4.13 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. Arizona signed Mantiply in January of 2020, and he pitched in four games for the D-backs that season.
Butcher, a fellow left-hander, signed with the D-backs last offseason and has bounced between the Aces and the major league level. He has 12 appearances for Reno and another 18 for the D-backs, with 12 earned runs to his record in the majors across 16.2 innings.
The D-backs are on the road Friday, taking on the San Diego Padres. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
