Arizona Cardinals cornerback Breon Borders made his debut after fellow cornerback Kevin Peterson went into the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion.
Borders, who was signed off the Tennessee Titans practice squad in mid-December, played Sunday in nickel packages behind No. 1 cornerback Byron Murphy and Antonio Hamilton.
Prior to joining Arizona this season, Borders appeared in 11 games for the Titans, recording five total tackles and two passes defensed.
He had his best year with Tennessee in 2020, when he started five games and tallied 27 tackles.
Coming into the NFL out of Duke in 2017, he went undrafted and joined the then-Oakland Raiders as a free agent in 2017.
Peterson appeared in 26 games for the Cardinals in the past two seasons but joined the Titans for the offseason.
Tennessee placed Peterson on the injured reserve before releasing him soon after this August, and it took two months before Peterson rejoined Arizona.
Since, Peterson has played in three games for Arizona and has seven tackles.
Peterson was a COVID-19 practice squad elevation from the practice squad on Friday.
Cardinals offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum missed a series with a back injury, but would return to the game.
Beachum appeared to pick up the injury after the Cardinals took the lead after a one-yard touchdown run from running back James Conner.
