Two members of the Arizona Cardinals front office are reportedly being sought out by the New York Giants for a GM opening.

The Giants have requested permission to interview Cardinals vice president of professional personnel Adrian Wilson for their vacant general manager position, per Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager. In addition, the Giants have also requested to speak with Cardinals vice president of player personnel Quentin Harris about the opening, according to CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.

The Giants announced on Monday that general manager Dave Gettleman had retired after four seasons on the job. New York was 19-46 in those four seasons and this past season were 4-13.

The departure of Gettleman is a rare one for the Giants, who have only had four general managers since 1979.

Wilson, who played 12 seasons with the team from 2001-12, was promoted to his new position in February after spending the last two years as Arizona’s director of pro scouting.

The former Cardinals safety hauled in 27 interceptions across 12 seasons with the club, earning three NFL All-Pro selections during his playing career.

Harris is in his 14th season with the organization, joining the team’s scouting department in 2006. Like Wilson, he was promoted in February.
