The WM Phoenix Open has been known to draw crowds other golf tournaments couldn’t even imagine hosting and the 2022 edition didn’t disappoint, bringing out some local stars on Friday.
The All-Star backcourt of the Phoenix Suns was in attendance, with Chris Paul and Devin Booker enjoying the WM Phoenix Open in its true glory.
That meant a visit to the infamous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale, where Paul and Booker took the Stadium hole in and watched a few pro’s take a shot at the Par 3.

The duo was met on the No. 16 tee box by 2019 U.S. Open Champion Gary Woodland, who has a prior relationship with Paul.
“I would have never picked up the game if not for Tiger (Woods),” Paul said. “You know for me especially being a black kid, black man now that loves to golf more than dang near about anything … I credit all that to Tiger Woods.”
As for Book, the shooting guard enjoys watching former ASU product and world No. 1 Jon Rahm, as well as Justin Thomas, the No. 7 ranked golfer in the world.
While the two were hanging out at the 16th Stadium, they had some friendly betting going on.
Kicking back in the shade, Paul and Booker imagined how they would fare if they had to take on the daunting environment of the 16th hole.
Paul’s club selection would be a smooth 8-iron, while Booker is confident he could muscle a wedge or 9-iron to get him on the green.
