The Phoenix Suns came into Sunday’s contest against the Milwaukee Bucks missing three key players, but guard Landry Shamet and center Deandre Ayton added 47 combined points in the 132-122 loss on Sunday.

Without the starting backcourt of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, Shamet got just his 10th start of the season but it was one of his best games as a Sun in the NBA Finals rematch.

Shamet was hot out of the gate, starting 4-for-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from 3.

He wasn’t just feeling himself shooting the ball, but had a hand in every aspect of the game adding a block, steal, assist and rebound in the first half.

This was just his sixth game since returning from a right ankle sprain that kept him out for nine games and second consecutive game playing over 25 minutes.

Shamet stayed relatively quiet in the second half, scoring three points. His 17 points in the game were his highest since Jan. 28 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ayton once again shined in Milwaukee, something many fans saw at the end of last season.

He finished with a season-high 30 points and added eight rebounds with two assists.

Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 19 points, 13 rebounds and two assists.
