Cornerback Robert Alford visited the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, according to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson.

Alford originally signed with Arizona back in 2019 as a free agent.

However, he suffered back-to-back season-ending injuries (broken leg and torn pectoral) that forced the CB to have to wait until 2021 to play his first snap in a Cardinals uniform.

After being released and re-signed by the Cardinals in the offseason before the 2021 campaign, Alford was able to suit up for 13 regular-season contests.

The 33-year-old cornerback mustered one interception, four passes defensed and 30 tackles in his Cardinals career before finishing the season on injured reserve due to a pectoral injury in Week 14.

Per Pro Football Focus, Alford had the best coverage grade of any other Cardinal at 68.5 — the second-best of his career.

PFF also ranks Alford in the top 40 remaining free agents and projects his contract value to be in the one-year, $5 million range.

The Cardinals recently signed former Minnesota Vikings CB Jeff Gladney last week, adding to Byron Murphy and Marco Wilson in Arizona’s cornerback room.

Former Cardinals CB Malcom Butler also came out of retirement to sign with the New England Patriots on Wednesday.
