The Kevin Durant sweepstakes have heated up in the desert after reports surfaced Thursday that the All-Star has not only requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, but chose the Phoenix Suns as a preferred landing spot.

It didn’t take long for sportsbooks to adjust accordingly.

FanDuel sportsbook has the Suns and Golden State Warriors as co-favorites to win next year’s NBA title at +600. The Miami Heat, another team Durant has reportedly mentioned as a top spot for his services, sit sixth at +1000.

The Los Angeles Clippers (+650), Milwaukee Bucks (+700) and Boston Celtics (+700) round out the top five teams with the best odds at taking home the 2022-23 NBA championship.

Before the Durant news dropped, Phoenix had title odds of +900 on FanDuel.

FanDuel isn’t the only sportsbook to believe Durant is headed to the Valley, either.

DraftKings has the Suns as the undisputed favorite to land the forward at -105. The Heat are just behind the Suns at +275, followed by the Nets (+800) and Clippers (+900).

As for who DraftKings currently likes for next year’s NBA Finals, the sportsbook has the Clippers (+550) and Warriors (+550) ahead of the Suns (+600).

Durant would undoubtedly boost a Suns team looking to return to the NBA Finals after a second-round exit at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks this past postseason.

Last season for the Nets (55 games), Durant averaged 29.9 points on 51.8% shooting (38.3% from long range) to go along with 7.4 rebounds and a career-high 6.4 assists over 37.2 minutes per outing.
