USFL title game MVP Victor Bolden Jr. signs with Arizona Cardinals

Wide receiver and return specialist Victor Bolden Jr. signed with the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday.
The Cardinals released receiver Jared Smart in a corresponding move.
Bolden, who played the past few months for the Birmingham Stallions, was the USFL all-purpose yards leader and won the MVP award for his team’s championship game, in which he made six catches for 64 yards and the go-ahead touchdown.
The 5-foot-8, 178-pound Bolden gained 15 games of NFL experience with the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills in 2017-18.
He has one 10-yard reception in his NFL career but grew his resume as a kick return man with 24 kickoffs and a 21.3-yard average. He also returned four punts for 23 yards.
In the USFL last season, he recorded 1,209 all-purpose yards: 415 receiving on 42 catches as well as 618 via kick return and 176 more on punt returns. Bolden averaged 9.9 yards per reception.
Bolden played four college seasons for the Oregon State Beavers, compiling 1,862 receiving yards and 727 rushing yards.
He spent portions of the 2019-21 seasons with the Detroit Lions.
