Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray didn’t suit up for the team’s 24-17 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens at State Farm Stadium on Sunday night.

But that doesn’t mean he didn’t lead his team to its only touchdown in the contest.

Murray put on the headset and took over playcalling duties as offensive coordinator for the Cardinals at the end of the third quarter, with his first drive in charge of the play sheet resulting in a one-yard TD run from quarterback Trace McSorley.

The drive lasted 8:29 and went for 74 yards on 16 plays, including three third-down conversions and one fourth-down conversion.

Two of those third-down conversions were converted with some big plays by Victor Bolden and Keaontay Ingram, who had 29-yard and 21-yard first-down conversion receptions, respectively.

After a Chandler Wooten interception got the ball back for the Cardinals, Murray once again led the team to a second consecutive touchdown in as many drives.

This time it was a 15-yard pitch and catch from Jarrett Guarantano to Jontre Kirklin for the score.

Not bad for a play-calling performance from a fourth-year signal caller after head coach Kliff Kingsbury called six drives which resulted in three points on two field goal attempts.

Baltimore extends its record preseason winning streak that dates back to 2016 to 22 consecutive victories.
