LISTEN: Doug and Wolf NFL Power Poll heading into Week 8

Every Wednesday, Doug and Wolf unveil their top five NFL teams on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

And following Week 7, both hosts have the same rankings.

Really.

“I don’t know if this is good or bad, but I’m going to rank it in the good category,” Franz said of his picking the Panthers third. “For the first time in the career of one Cam Newton, he threw three interceptions and his team won anyway. If they’re able to overcome that, look at how well they play when he plays well. The Panthers are the third-best team in the NFL.”

Wolfley agreed, adding that the Panthers’ defense is underrated.

On the Packers being second, Wolfley pointed to QB Aaron Rodgers along with the balance Green Bay’s offense features.

“They are number eight in rushing yards per game, number six in rushing yards per play,” he noted.

But alas, only one team can sit at the top.

“When the New England Patriots throw the ball, or at least drop back to pass 80 percent of the time in one game over the last 10 years, they’re 4-0,” Franz said. “Everyone else is 3-109.”
