Michael Floyd’s toe drag gets Cardinals off to strong start against Packers

Jan 16, 2016, 6:50 PM | Updated: 10:16 pm

The Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers traded three-and-outs on each teams’ first possession in their NFC Divisional Playoff showdown, but it was a stellar catch by Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd that officially signaled his team had settled in.

Floyd’s touchdown grab in the corner of the end zone capped a 11-play, 42-yard drive in the first quarter and gave the Cardinals a 7-0 lead.

Arizona found itself in a 3rd-and-goal situation at the 8-yard line when Palmer floated a pass in the back corner of the end zone. Floyd, however, made the play by knowing where his feet were. The receiver got his left foot down inbound and made the touchdown call an easy one for the referees by dragging his right foot on the University of Phoenix Stadium turf.

The play was a big one for Floyd, who came into Saturday with just one postseason reception in his career.
