Although they cannot participate in football related activities due to the NFL lockout, a few current and former Cardinals will get together to golf.
Joey Porter, Ken Whisenhunt, Steve Buerlein, Chris Chandler and Jim McMahon will all take part in the 2011 American Centurty Championship celebrity golf tournament July 14-17.
Porter will play in the tournament for the first time while the others have all played in the event before.
While this tournament is supposed to be a relaxed environment, the presence of Porter and Whisenhunt, along with other current NFL players and coach brings up an awkward dilemma.
Since the NFL lockout is still in effect, players and coaches are not allowed to have any interactions. Which means Whisenhunt and Porter will likely have a few moments reminiscent of a freshman’s first high school dance where he locks eyes with the pretty girl then shy’s away.
Whether they talk will be up to them, but a violation of league rules at a celebrity golf tournament is not what any NFL team needs with the lockout nearing an end.
