The Arizona Diamondbacks will be ready to move on from their opening series of the season against the Colorado Rockies.

The acquisitions of Zack Greinke and Shelby Miller made the D-backs the talk of the baseball world in the offseason. Both, however, failed to live up to the hype in their debuts for the team.

Luckily for at least Miller, the D-backs offense exploded on Tuesday for 11 runs and avoided what would have been a sweep.

Here’s the series, by the numbers.

19

Arizona scored 19 runs against the Rockies in the series. The D-backs scored 13 runs in their three-game opening series against the San Francisco Giants in 2015. In both series, the D-backs went 1-2.

10

Colorado hit 10 home runs off D-backs pitchers.

3

Zack Greinke and Shelby Miller each surrendered three home runs in their debut outings. Both Greinke and Miller did not allow more than three home runs in any month of the 2015 season.

38

Paul Goldschmidt reached base safely in every game, extending his streak to 38 games of getting on-base against the Rockies. That ties Luis Gonzalez’s franchise record, which was also against Colorado.

.400

D-backs starting pitchers went 2-for-5 (.400) hitting eighth. Greinke had an RBI single and Patrick Corbin scored a run after his own single.

9

David Peralta had five hits in his first two games of the 2016 season. In 2015, it took Peralta nine games to reach that mark. That ninth game was also Peralta’s first three-hit game of the season. The 28-year-old had his first three-hit game on Opening Day.

.429

Jean Segura is hitting .429, picking up at least two hits in all three games of the series against Colorado. The last time the D-backs second baseman had at least two hits in every game of a series was May 10-12 in 2013 against the Cincinnati Reds, when Segura went 8-for-12.

116

Rockies shortstop Trevor Story was the talk of the D-backs opening series. His first four career hits were all home runs, making him the first player in 116 years to do so.

6

Nick Ahmed had six hits in the series. That’s the first time the D-backs shortstop has had more than five hits in one series.

11

Paul Goldschmidt was held hitless in two games this series. That only happened to the All-Star first baseman 11 times in the 52 series the D-backs played last season.
