The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Tuesday that they have optioned left-handed reliever Zac Curtis to Double-A Mobile but will not announce who will fill the open roster spot until Wednesday.

In 14 games since being called up to the majors for the first time, Curtis recorded a 5.23 ERA (6 ER in 10.1 IP).

The 23-year-old got through his first 10 appearances of 8.1 innings pitched while striking out seven and not allowing an earned run. However, Curtis allowed at least one earned run and six total in his last four appearances.

Against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, he allowed two earned runs in two innings pitched, including the first home run allowed of his major league career.
