Last Friday, concern grew for Welington Castillo, who was transferred from the paternity list to the bereavement leave list as there were complications regarding his wife Kissalry and the birth of their second child.

Fortunately, it appears whatever rough patch their baby son was going through is in the rearview mirror.

Now, with the youngest Castillo in good shape, the D-backs catcher is ready to return to the team

The Diamondbacks announced on Monday that Castillo has been reinstated from the Bereavement List. In a corresponding move, catcher Oscar Hernandez was optioned to Double-A Mobile.

The 29-year-old Castillo is batting .254 with 12 home runs and 40 RBI in 80 games for the D-backs this season. Hernandez appeared in two games, and notched a pair of hits — including a home run — in eight at-bats.

Along with the changes at catcher, the D-backs also announced they have recalled left-handed pitcher Edwin Escobar from Triple-A Reno and designated left-handed pitcher Adam Loewen for assignment.

Escobar, 24, has appeared in three games for the D-backs this season — with two starts — and posted a 0-2 record with a 15.95 ERA.

In eight games with the Diamondbacks, the 32-year-old Loewen has a 1-0 record with a 15.00 ERA.
