Cross another receiver off the Cardinals’ list

Braylon Edwards signed with the 49ers, leaving San Diego’s Malcolm Floyd as the top wideout on Cardinals fans’ wish lists.

Well, about that…

There were many reports that while the Cardinals had interest in the speedster, they did not want to spend the money or focus attention on bringing him (or any other receiver) in until they took care of Larry Fitzgerald’s contract extension.

Did the desire to get Fitz’s deal done cost them a shot at Floyd? We may never know.

What we do know is that the Cardinals, for all intents and purposes, seem ready to go into the season with Fitzgerald, Early Doucet, Andre Roberts and Chansi Stuckey leading the way at the wide receiver position.
