A day after re-signing preseason standout Chris Hubert to the practice squad, the Arizona Cardinals elevated him to the active roster.
Hubert was given a chance to get back on the team because Jaron Brown suffered a torn ACL on Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks. Before signing on Tuesday, Hubert performed well throughout training camp and was on the practice squad until he was released on Sept. 13.
The 5-foot-9 receiver out of Fayetteville State was one of the best receivers of all time at his alma mater, as he is the all-time leader in touchdown receptions (19), second in receptions (129) and third in receiving yards (1,784).
In a corresponding move, guard/tackle Martin Wallace re-signed with the practice squad. He was with the practice squad for two weeks until he was released Tuesday to make room for Hubert. The 6-foot-6, 311-pound product out of Temple entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2013. He has also been on the practice squads of the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears.
