Former scout thinks Von Miller lacks competitiveness

There have been more holes poked into every player projected towards the top of the NFL draft than the Arizona Cardinals defense in 2010. You can now add Von Miller Texas A&M outside linebacker to that list.
Former NFL scout Dave Razzano told the Arizona Republic’s Kent Somers that he thinks Miller isn’t the guy everyone around the league is making him out to be.
“I’m not a Von Miller guy at all, ” he said. “I know he had an ankle injury, but I think it’s a cop-out. I’ve look at enough tape. The stuff he does that I don’t like has nothing to do with an ankle sprain at all.”
“Alan Branch and Cody Brown were two of the most non-physical guys I’ve seen,” Razzano said. “Von Miller does not have a real competitive demeanor. That’s the kind of guy who has ‘bust’ quality.
If that doesn’t scare you off of a player we’re not sure what would. Except for maybe being an inaccurate, over confident quarterback, one that might not have everything it takes to make it in the league or a defensive back with questionable character.
If NFL teams listened to all of the scouts, ‘experts’ and critics, they wouldn’t draft anyone and would rather invest the money in more talent evaluators.
If you look at anything long enough you’ll see the cracks. The question is do the Arizona Cardinals, their scouts and their coaching staff think that Miller has the talent to succeed at the next level. We may find out April 28th, that is if he’s still on the board at No. 5.
