The Arizona Cardinals have signed wide receiver Jalen Saunders to the practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.
Saunders is taking the place of kick returner Teddy Williams, who was signed by the Chicago Bears to their active roster.
The 22-year-old rookie was drafted out of Oklahoma by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
He played in the first three games of the season before being released by New York on Sept. 29. He returned five punts for 29 yards in New York.
Saunders played his last two years at Oklahoma after transferring from Fresno State. In his senior year, he started all 13 games and finished with 61 receptions for 729 yards and eight touchdowns, along with 20 punt returns for 308 yards and two touchdowns.
