Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross made his season debut with the Triple-A Reno Aces on Thursday, and he couldn’t have asked for a better start to his rehab stint.
Ross had been sidelined since suffering a gruesome broken and dislocated hip while running to first base in August, and got his 2014 season started in the Aces’ season opener against the El Paso Chihuahuas.
Ross went 2-for-2 with an RBI in two plate appearances while making his season debut. He saw just one plate appearance during spring training while working his way back from the injury.
Ross hit .278 with eight home runs and 38 RBIs in 94 games last year with the D-backs — his first with the team after being signed as a free agent.
