Cardinals release linebacker Trevardo Williams

The Arizona Cardinals waived linebacker Trevardo Williams on Friday, just six days after they claimed him off waivers from the Houston Texans.
A 2013 fourth-round draft pick by the Texans, the 6-foot-1, 237-pound Williams missed his entire rookie season with a knee injury.
Williams was a 2012 All-Big East first-team selection at the University of Connecticut, recording 43 tackles and 11.5 sacks that season.
