Well, that was easy — or so it seemed.
The Arizona defense picked off three passes in the first half, including a 15-yarder returned for a touchdown by Marquis Floyd as the Rattlers pushed their record to 10-0 with a 70-25 rout of the L.A. Kiss at Honda Center Sunday night.
L.A. (2-8) actually scored first on a 2-yard touchdown run by fullback Andres Vargas. From that point forward, it was all Rattlers.
Quarterback Nick Davila completed 16-of-25 passes for 236 yards and six touchdowns on the night. Four of those scoring strikes went to receiver Kerry Reed, who has more than picked up the slack for the injured Maurice Purify. Reed had seven catches for a game-high 101 yards.
L.A. quarterback Aaron Garcia, who was playing just his second game with the Kiss, was hit by Arizona’s Quinn Pitcock early in the contest and suffered bruised ribs. He split time with Tyler Hansen, who completed just 2-of-9 passes for 11 yards and threw two interceptions.
