Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long reaches out, spends time with bullied fan

May 4, 2014, 7:54 PM | Updated: 7:55 pm

It appears Chicago Bears offensive guard Kyle Long isn’t just protecting Jay Cutler and Matt Forte these days.

According to FoxSports.com, Long was contacted by one of his 76,000 followers on Twitter, Frank Oyston of Huntley, Ill., about a bullying situation that took place between his nine-year-old son Andrew and fellow students at a local school.

From there, the former No. 20 overall pick handled the rest, agreeing to not only ride the bus with Andrew, but to hang out with him as well this weekend.

A promise he was more than happy to keep.

“It was actually my youngest daughter’s birthday at Chuck E. Cheese and Kyle came and hung out,” Oyston told FoxSports.com. “We played games and had pizza. We had a lot of fun.

“He was at Chuck E. Cheese for a couple hours and then he came back to the house and played catch with the kids and took some pictures.”

From the looks of it, Long seems to have made a new fan with a very classy gesture.
