The Arizona Diamondbacks have identified a starting pitcher out of their rotation who will earn the Opening Day nod.
“To be the one to toe the rubber the first time is pretty special.” -Josh Collmenter on being named the #OpeningDay starter.

“For us, he’s going to be the leader of our staff. We’re proud of him,” Hale told MLB.com.
The skipper also said Collmenter has “the most experience at this point here in Arizona.”
Left-hander Wade Miley, now of the Boston Red Sox, was Arizona’s Opening Day starter a season ago.
Collmenter talked with Fox Sports Arizona a few hours after getting the vote of confidence from Hale, and fellow starting pitcher Trevor Cahill pitched in to make for an odd all-around interview.
