University of Arizona basketball sophomore guard Rawle Alkins had successful surgery on his right foot and is expected to be out for at least two months.

Alkins had surgery to repair a fractured bone in his right foot for an injury he suffered while participating in voluntary activities with teammates Tuesday.

The 19-year-old tested the NBA Draft waters this summer, attending the NBA Combine and playing well in the 5-on-5 portion of the event.

As a freshman, Alkins averaged 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 46 percent overall and 37 percent from three-point range.

Projected anywhere from a late-first round to second-round selection in 2017, Alkins lands at No. 49 to the New York Knicks in ESPN’s latest 2018 mock draft.

Alkins broke his foot on the same day that assistant coach Emanuel Richardson was suspended and relieved of all duties after he was charged with fraud and corruption in college basketball Tuesday morning.
