Two 30-point games into the season, the Pac-12 honored Arizona Wildcats guard Allonzo Trier with the first weekly player of the week honor of the 2017-18 season.

It’s the second time Trier has won the award. He’s the seventh UA player to record back-to-back 30-point games and the first since Jerryd Bayless did so in 2007-08.

Trier, a preseason All-America First Team member, scored a career-high 32 points Friday in the season opener against Northern Arizona before pouring in another 30 against Maryland-Baltimore County on Sunday. Through the two games, he’s shooting 64.5 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three-point range.

The 6-foot-5 junior is also getting to the foul stripe nine times per game while grabbing 4.5 rebounds and adding three assists per game.

Arizona, which entered Monday ranked No. 3 in the nation, defeated NAU, 101-67, before dropping UMBC, 103-78.

The Wildcats next face Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday.
