When Arizona Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila connected with Rod Windsor on a 49-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of a 61-32 win over the Portland Thunder Sunday, he joined an exclusive club.
The touchdown pass was Davila’s 500th in the Arena Football League, making him just the ninth player to reach that plateau.
Davila would go on to throw seven more touchdown passes in the win and now finds himself tied for eighth place on the all-time league list.
The left-hander from the University of Cincinnati has thrown at least 102 touchdown passes in each of his first five seasons in the league, becoming the only player in AFL history to accomplish the feat.
This season, Davila is on pace to throw a career-high 128 touchdown passes. The 28-year-old also leads the league with a QB Rating of 132.5.
