Cardinals QB Drew Stanton does his best Russell Wilson impression

Dec 31, 2017, 3:06 PM | Updated: 5:39 pm

We knew Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton can dance on the sidelines against the Seattle Seahawks.

Turns out, he’s got some moves on the field as well — moves reminiscent of shifty Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson.

Starting in the 2017 finale Sunday against Seattle, Stanton got his Cardinals off to a fast start at CenturyLink Field.

With Arizona at the Seattle 25-yard line, he took the snap and rolled out but found Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett hot on his tail. So Stanton looped around even further to outrun Bennett, who fell down trying to trip the quarterback up.

Stanton bought just enough time — about 8 seconds worth — for receiver Jaron Brown to find an opening in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown that gave the Cardinals a 7-0 lead with 8:55 left in the first quarter.

The pass wrapped a 10-play, 73-yard drive that took 6:05 off the clock on Arizona’s first possession of the game, one in which Stanton went 6-for-6. Seattle would quickly respond with Tyler Lockett’s 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that led to a 7-7 tie.

Arizona led 20-7 at the half as Stanton went 13-of-23 for 113 yards. Cardinals running back Kerwynn Williams added 64 rushing yards on 17 carries in the first half.
