A group of Arizona State football players recently headed over to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, volunteering to spend time with the young patients.
ASU Athletics released a video Tuesday featuring quarterback Taylor Kelly, safety Jordan Simone, offensive tackle Jamil Douglas and kicker Alex Garoutte playing various games with patients at the hospital.
“It means the world for these kids so they can come out here and stay positive and get motivated to overcome whatever they have,” Kelly said. “It brightens their day up and keeps them going throughout their day.”
The visit is part of a larger school initiative called, “Sun Devils Serve” where ASU student-athletes go out and give back to the Valley community.
“I think more of us should do it,” Simone said. “It’s easy to take time out of your day. I mean these kids, it means the world to them. And for us to do something selfless, it only makes sense. It’s the Sun Devil way.”
