D-backs trade outfielder Jeremy Hazelbaker to Rays

The Arizona Diamondbacks traded outfielder Jeremy Hazelbaker to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations. Hazelbaker was designated for assignment by the team on Friday.
The 30-year-old outfielder was removed from the 40-man roster in order to make room for right-handed pitcher Troy Scribner, whom the D-backs claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.
Hazelbaker was originally claimed off waivers by the D-backs from the St. Louis Cardinals in November of 2016.
In 2017, Hazelbaker played in 41 games and took 61 at-bats, hitting .346 with two home runs and 10 RBI. He made appearances in left, center and right field.
Originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft by the Boston Red Sox, Hazelbaker has spent the majority of his career in the minor leagues, making his MLB debut in March of 2016 with the Cardinals.
