Arizona Sports predicts Cardinals vs. Eagles

It’s a battle of the birds in what was supposed to be
Kevin Kolb’s return to Philadelphia, but instead could be
John Skelton’s second start of the season.

The 2-6 Cardinals look to snap their road losing streak
against the 3-5 Eagles, who looked to be on the verge of
turning their season around before losing to the Bears
Monday night.

What’s going to happen? Let us know what you think by
leaving a comment below.

Vince Marotta Things don’t look good for the Cardinals, let’s face it.
A team riding an 11-game road losing streak with a backup
quarterback against a talented and desperate team just
trying to stay in playoff contention? Yikes. Look for
LeSean McCoy to run wild against the Cardinals defense,
and look for the Eagles to hit on at least two pass plays
of 50+ yards against the Cardinals’ secondary. By the end
of the game, the only think likely to still be watching
for is to see if Patrick Peterson takes another one back
to the house.

Final Score: Eagles 34, Cardinals 17

Doug Franz The Eagles aren’t that great. The Cardinals are nowhere
near great.

The Cardinals do have a chance because the Eagles are so
bad against the run. The question is whether or not
Beanie Wells can actually make it through a whole game
healthy. If I believed in Wells’ ability to stay healthy,
I would actually pick the Cardinals.

I think the Cards will start well in this game. I think
the Cardinals will have a lead at some point in this game.
Unfortunately, Wells will wear down eventually. Without a
running game to control the clock, the Eagles will make a
rare 4th quarter comeback.

Yes, I’ve done my homework. I know the Eagles are one of
the worse 4th quarter teams in the NFL. The catch is, do
you believe in the Cardinals ability to put someone away?

Final Score: Eagles 27, Cardinals 24

Adam Green This game has that classic “Cardinals find a way to beat a
team they have no business beating” feel except for the
fact that, well, the Eagles are good and the Cardinals are
not.

The biggest issue for the Cardinals is the Eagles’
strengths will exploit Arizona’s weaknesses. Fast
receivers? Check. Solid pass rush? Check. Mobile QB? Yeah,
just a little bit.

I don’t think John Skelton will have a big game Sunday
but, even if he did, I’m not sure it would matter. The
Cardinals just don’t have the horses to keep up on the
road.

Final Score: Eagles 31, Cardinals 14

Kyndra de St. Aubin The Cardinals need to find a way to stop LaSean McCoy.
Michael Vick gets all the attention now that he is
somewhat of a dual threat QB, but it’s McCoy who makes
this offense go. He’s averaging 5.5 yards per carry and
has 9 rushing TDs but, more importantly, he has NO
fumbles.

Cardinals will not stop McCoy, but they need to slow him
down to have a chance to win.

Final Score: Eagles 31, Cardinals 24

Dave Burns It’s hard not to have the same feeling for the Eagles game
that I had for the Ravens game; a superior opponent that
loses on Monday Night Football is going to be mad as hell
and plans on exacting revenge on the Arizona Cardinals. It
didn’t follow the script vs. Baltimore and I doubt it will
again as the Eagles are a flawed football team. The key is
Beanie Wells. Is he healthy enough to take pressure of
John Skelton? He wasn’t against the Rams but then….that
was the Rams. I have nightmarish visions of Eagles’
receivers running for miles, however.

Final Score: Eagles 27, Cardinals 13
Tyler Bassett The Eagles are at home and have too much team speed. It
doesn’t matter who starts at QB for the Cardinals, they
will struggle. I also expect Michael Vick to connect with
his WRs on a few big plays.

Final Score: Eagles 31, Cardinals 16
Joe Huizenga Sometimes they’ve got it, sometimes they don’t. I’m not
talking about the Cardinals offense, they really haven’t
had it much lately. The Eagles on the other hand epitomize
“cat and mouse.” Philly has looked like that “dream team”
Vince Young proclaimed them to be once or twice this
season.

When you’re counting on a punt returner to keep you in
football games that should really say a lot about how the
team’s been playing lately. Patrick Peterson’s been a
bright spot, unfortunately the rest of the team has a lot
of work to do.

Give me McCoy, Maclin, Jackson & Vick

Final Score: Eagles 34, Cardinals 10

Charlie Feinerman The Eagles loss to the Bears could be the worst thing to
happen for the Cardinals. The Eagles will be very focused
this week as a loss will all but end their NFC East title
hopes. The Cardinals will be able to run the ball well,
but with the Cardinals defense concerned with Mike Vick,
LeSean Mccoy will have a big day.

Final Score: Eagles 38, Cardinals 17
Paul Calvisi Paulie Pigskin: Rookie on Rookie crime, as P-Twice scores
3x on Eagles rookie punter. Plus, John Skelton will torch
DRC for 3 TD passes and Beanie will run over DRC for 2
more touchdowns. Paulie Pigskin predicts that Cards win
mondo shootout

Final Score: Cardinals 56, Eagles 45
John Gambadoro Arizona faces a determined and desperate Philadelphia team
on the road this week and I fully expect Arizona’s one-
game winning streak streak to end.

The Eagles go on the road next week to the Meadowlands to
face the Giants in a huge NFC East West showdown so will
be highly motivated to take care of business against
Arizona. Michael Vick has been nothing better than average
this season, getting knocked down 101 times and having
more turnovers (9 int and 3 fumbles lost) than touchdown
passes (11). Strange, but Vick has no rushing touchdowns
this year. If Arizona can keep it close they might have a
chance, as Philly has struggled in the fourth quarter with
Vick only having one touchdown pass on the season in the
final frame.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of Jon Skelton, the
Cardinals second-year QB who will get the start again in
place of the injured Kevin Kolb and he has proven in
spurts that he can play well. Can he do it for four
quarters on the road? Probably not at this time, but he
did a nice job last week of getting everyone involved. Key
for Arizona is a heavy dose of Beanie Wells and playing
physical defense. If they can do that they have a chance.
If not it could be a blowout.

Final Score: Eagles 31, Cardinals 17
