Arizona Diamondbacks announcer Greg Schulte to call game number 2,500 in Los Angeles

Greg Schulte, the radio voice of the Arizona Diamondbacks, will be calling his 2,500th game Wednesday night as the D-backs take on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“It was something I wanted to do since I was a kid,” Schulte told’s Steve Gilbert. “To finally get that opportunity and to make it last now for 16 years is pretty special.”

This is Schulte’s 16th season doing play-by-play for the D-backs, as he’s been calling their games since the team’s inception in 1998. He has been a staple in Phoenix, having worked with the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals prior to his current gig.
