Since undergoing Tommy John surgery more than two years ago, Patrick Corbin hasn’t returned to the caliber of pitcher that earned him All-Star status in 2013. That hasn’t meant teams have lost interest in trading for the Diamondbacks’ No. 3 pitcher.

Arizona has received phone calls from teams interested in Corbin, but TodaysKnuckeball.com’s Jon Heyman reports that D-backs general manager Dave Stewart has no interest in moving Corbin.

Teams have called about Patrick Corbin, who isn’t having his best year. But D-backs GM Dave Stewart says, flat out, “We are not moving Corbin.”

Corbin heads into the second half of 2016 with a 4.94 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a 4-7 record. His strikeout rate has not rebounded to its previous level, but he is also struggling with a career-high walk rate. His strikeout-to-walk rate of 1.83 is well below his career mark of 3.04.

As it stands, Corbin is one of two Arizona starting pitchers that haven’t been placed on the disabled list so far in 2016. Robbie Ray is the other.

Although the Diamondbacks appear ready to face the reality of a missed playoff berth, it appears they covet any consistency at this point.

Ace Zack Greinke will remain on the disabled list coming out of the All-Star break, Shelby Miller has been demoted, and fellow starter Rubby De La Rosa remains on the comeback from elbow problems.

Corbin will start Friday night against the Dodgers as Arizona starts the second half of the season with a four-man pitching staff.
