Damarious Randall has become the first Arizona State Sun Devil to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft in 12 years.

The 5-foot-11 safety went to the Green Bay Packers with the No. 30 pick in the draft Thursday.

As predicted by NFL.com’s Mike Mayock, Randall had the honor of being the first safety taken in the 2015 draft.

And — he called it:

The Pensacola, Florida, native had 106 tackles and three interceptions — including a pick-six — and two forced fumbles last season as a Sun Devil, a season in which he earned first team All-Pac-12 honors.

He played two years under Todd Graham in Tempe after transferring from Mesa Community College prior to the 2013 season.

Randall attracted the attention of scouts this winter based on his quickness, explosiveness and desire to hit hard. He performed well at the NFL Combine, clocking a 4.46 40-yard dash and a 38-inch vertical jump.

The defensive back is the first player to be drafted in the first round out of ASU since Terrell Suggs went to the Baltimore Ravens at No. 10 overall in 2003.

Randall will also join former Sun Devil Carl Bradford, who currently plays for the Packers.
