NFL wideout receives year supply of pizza following unfortunate injury

The Detroit Lions moved to 5-3 Sunday with a dramatic, come-from-behind 31-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
While Calvin Johnson had a career day (329 receiving yards and a touchdown), Detroit’s offense has been without the services of wideout Nate Burleson for most of the 2013 season.
Burleson, who had 19 catches for 239 yards in his first three games of the year, suffered a broken arm back on Sept. 24 after trying to save a pizza from falling off the passenger seat in his car.
Although Burleson is close to returning to game action, DiGiorno Pizza has made it their goal to ensure that the veteran receiver never hurts himself again trying to bring home a pie.
As it turns out, the company that has gained notoriety for it’s catchy “It’s not delivery, it’s DiGiorno” slogan has been providing the Lions receiver with a year supply of free pizza.
Along with the free pizza, Burleson also received a letter.
“Hello Nate, We hope you are feeling better after your recent car accident and are on the road to recovery,” the letter read. “DiGiorno Pizza understands the challenges that come with carry out and delivery pizza so we’re sending you a gift along with a year supply of DiGorno pizza so you can skip carry out.”
