Arkansas State pulls the worst (and most disturbing) fake punt ever

The Arkansas State Red Wolves were on the road playing the Miami Hurricanes last Saturday.
Trailing 20-7, Arkansas State went into punt formation on a 4th-and-5 from the Miami 40-yard line.
They tried a fake, with punter Luke Ferguson throwing, but it didn’t work out very well. Ferguson’s pass was picked off by Raphael Kirby at the Hurricane’s 31-yard line.
But the interception wasn’t even the worst part of the play. Receiver Booker Mays, who was lined up to the right of the formation, just played dead at the snap. Literally.
“We were just having a little bit of fun to be honest with you,” Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson told USA Today’s For The Win.
Anderson explained that Mays was ineligible on the play, so they just had him fall down, like a fainting goat, as he called it.
“Booker’s got a great personality, so we just told him once they snap, since you can’t go downfield, just take a step back and do the Fainting Goat technique,” Anderson said. “We showed him the video and he worked at it all week and had a great time with it and got better every day. And then on Saturday, we ran it. The only problem was we did a poor job on the fake itself. We had a guy open and uncovered and we just underthrew the pass and got picked off. But Booker did his part to a T.”
Miami went on to win 40-21.
