Dolphins take down the Patriots on last-second hook and ladder

The band wasn’t on the field, but the Miami Dolphins pulled a Stanford-Cal-like miracle on the final play of the game against the New England Patriots.
Trailing 33-28, the Dolphins ran a hook and ladder play that started with a completion from Ryan Tannehill to Kenny Stills. Without anywhere to go, Stills then flipped the ball to Devante Parker who shoveled the ball to a streaking Kenyan Drake down the sideline.
After making one man miss, Drake cut the ball back inside looking for someone else to flip it to. Instead of finding a teammate, Drake found a seam up the middle of the field and then beat Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to the corner of the endzone giving the Dolphins the 34-33 lead and the win.

The win moves the Dolphins to 7-6 on the season and drops the Patriots to 9-4. Miami was tied with three other teams, and possibly a fourth if the Denver Broncos beat the San Francisco 49ers, for the second AFC Wildcard berth.
The Patriots fall into a tie with the Houston Texans for second place in the conference and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
Miami has been somewhat of an Achilles heel for the Patriots as New England has lost five of the last six times the two teams have met up in South Beach.
