Arizona State senior Brandon Aiyuk was added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list on Wednesday morning, putting him in the mix to be recognized as one of the best receivers in college football at year’s end.
Aiyuk caught nine passes for 122 yards and a touchdown on Saturday in a 34-31 loss to the Colorado Buffaloes.
For the season, the speed-burner has tallied 424 yards on just 22 receptions, good for an average of 19.3 yards per catch.
His explosive plays have appeared in each of ASU’s four games so far.
Aiyuk had a long reception of 77 yards against Kent State, 52 yards against Sacramento State, 40 at Michigan State and 53 facing Colorado.
The 6-foot-1, 206-pound senior was among eight players added to the Biletnikoff watch list on Wednesday. The award, which goes to the best receiver in college football regardless of position, will be presented on Dec. 12 and is voted on by its selection committee of prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers and past winners.
