Doug & Wolf want to attack the Arizona Cardinals’ options in the 2020 NFL Draft differently.

The No. 8 overall pick presents numerous options, and what Arizona does to follow up its first-round pick could change depending on who they select. So Doug & Wolf on Wednesday introduced “Cards Connect Four.”

They’ll pick one different first-round selection during their next four shows and make Arizona’s next three draft picks (Nos. 72, 114 and 131) based on that.

At the least, it’ll introduce different scenarios of how the Cardinals’ own dominoes will fall in the draft. Meanwhile, it’ll allow us to take a look at later-round picks who are good names to know.

Oh, and in a twist, co-host Ron Wolfley doesn’t know what picks are coming. He reacts to the moves made during each segment.

8. Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa

Mostly a right tackle for the Hawkeyes, Wirfs is known for his run-blocking and excelled at the NFL Draft Combine, posting a 40-yard dash mark of 4.85 seconds. That was best among offensive linemen this year. He also set a combine record with a 36.5-inch vertical and tied the record in the broad jump with a 10-foot-1 mark.

Wirfs is 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, by the way.

Wolf’s reaction: “Listen, it all depends who’s there. Is Derrick Brown there? Is Isaiah Simmons there? Is Jeff Okudah there? Right now if you told me it’s Tristan Wirfs, philosophically, theoretically, I’ve got no problem with that.”

72. Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

The younger brother of Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs, Trevon Diggs tallied 37 tackles with eight passes defensed and three picks last year for the Crimson Tide. A bit on the slow side for a corner, he has size at 6-foot-2 and 207 pounds to potentially play safety down the road.

Wolf’s reaction: “Let me just say that I don’t think Trevon Diggs will be there at 72, I don’t think it’s anywhere close to that. I’m not crazy about the guy, either. I’m really not. I think he’s more of a guesser as a corner. It’s one of the reasons he’s very, very handsy. He’s a guy who’s going to be called, especially his rookie year, for … pass-interference calls.”

114. Van Jefferson, WR, Florida

A 6-foot-2 receiver who spent two years at Ole Miss and then transferred to Florida for 2018 and 2019, Jefferson pulled in six touchdowns and 657 yards (13.4 yards per reception) last season.

Wolf’s reaction: “I don’t know if I’m on board with that … I will say that he might not be there even at 114. I think the Arizona Cardinals, I’d love to see them address other things, especially this late.”

131. Jordan Fuller, S, Ohio State

A former cornerback, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Fuller posted 62 tackles and four passes defensed last year. He also picked off two of his six career interceptions in 2019.

Not an elite athlete with range and too small to play heavily in the box, Fuller is a savvy player who reminds some of former Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson.

Wolf’s reaction: “I have no idea, ladies and gentleman. I do like the fact that you’re talking about a brainsy guy if that’s what your comp is with Rashad Johnson.”
